Belfast Harbour - Identity suite

As the work that the Harbour Commissioners carries out is evolving into fast-paced and forward-thinking areas, they came to us searching for an update to their identity. We needed to retain the well-established reputation that they hold but also help them move forward. Key elements of the original brand were retained but given a facelift – namely the seal and logo. We worked through the history of the seal to track how it had evolved and took a back-to-basics approach, developing an illustration of the original stained glass window. The ‘Commissioners’ element was removed from the logo and we designed a simple, bold, typography-based approach using the Lubalin typeface with a few subtle tweaks. The result is a fresh identity, unique to Belfast Harbour.

NITB - Incentive Itineraries brochure

Business tourism is a competitive field and everyone is aiming for standout. We needed to highlight the luxury and incentives offering in Northern Ireland and show that we can compete in a global market. The vision was to produce a brochure that showcased what we have to offer, and pull together sample itineraries for the business market. Through our design we needed to make the information easily digestible and also reinforce the luxury of the offering. We did this by breaking down the copy into simple chunks, using strong imagery and running a timeline across the bottom of the page. The brochure was sectioned into the appropriate regions and offerings. The print spec also reinforced this high end product using foil blocking and uncoated paper and the cover tied in with NITB’s case study series with the front panel cut short giving the reader a glimpse of what is to come.
